CANOE KIDS SUMMER CAMP


For boys and girls from 7 to 12 years old
​With COVID-19 safety guidelines in place 

Weekdays 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

The Canoe Kids Summer Camp is a one week full day camp with an introduction to all aspects of safe paddle sports. Campers will enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding (SUP). It is a program suitable for beginners as well as for those with some previous paddling experience.

What to bring to Canoe Fun Summer Camp
The Rideau Canoe Club will provide all the necessary paddling equipment except for the life jacket. 
  • Life Jacket (Transport Canada approved)
  • Suitable clothing: Comfortable, loose fitting and preferably made of quick drying fabric
  • Towel
  • Water Bottle
  • Sun screen
  • Healthy lunch and snacks as fuel for a full day of activity. 
COVID-19 Measures
Canoe Kids will follow public health regulations and guidelines for summer camps including:
  • Social distancing practices
  • Groups sizing
  • Same coach and participants all week
  • Boats and paddle sanitizing after each use
  • Separate shelter tent for each group
  • Daily screening of coaches and participants

 Inclement Weather
​Canoe Fun kids can still have fun in the rain! However, if there is heavy rain, gusty winds, thunderstorms we can not be on the water, and will have to cancel sessions.  We monitor weather daily and if inclement weather that will prevent us from being on the water is forecasted on the Weather Network we will cancel the session and contact you (up to 30 minutes prior).   Should unsafe weather conditions arise unexpectedly, the canoe club can shelter the children temporarily and we will contact you for pick up.  ​
