DRAGON BOAT BOOKING PROCEDURE & POLICY
Time Slot Booking
Teams who have registered for the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival can contact the dragon boat program coordinator ([email protected]) to request practice times for the upcoming season. These practices will be held in a queue and entered into the system by the dragon boat coordinator based on a first-come-first-serve priority. Practices will be booked based on Block 1 - practices before the ODBF and Block 2 - practices after the ODBF. When booking, please indicate your team's top 3 preferences for practice days/times, coach/steer person needs and coach/steer person requests. Please note these requests are not guaranteed.
Payments
Once practices have been booked in Block 1, invoices will be sent along with payment options. Payment for practices in Block 1 must be made before practices in Block 2 will be booked. Once practices have been booked in Block 2, invoices will be sent along with payment options. Late payments will result in interest charges and missed payments will result in the cancellation of future bookings. All team accounts need to be settled by September 30.
Payments can be made by e-transfer ([email protected]) or by phone (613-225-5546) with a credit card (Visa & Mastercard). Cheques should be made out to Rideau Canoe Club and sent to the following address: Rideau Canoe Club - Dragon Boat, 804 Hogs Back Road, Ottawa, ON K2C 0B1
Practice Times
Practice times for this season are as follows. Practice length is 55-60 minutes and they are the following:
Weekday Morning - 6:00am & 7:00am
Weekday Evening - 4:45pm; 5pm; 5:15pm; 6:15pm; 7:00pm; 7:15pm; 8:00pm (The last team to go out have to be back at the dock no later than 9 pm)
Weekend Saturday - between 8:15 am and 3 pm (Teams have to be back at the dock no later than 4 pm)
Weekend Sunday - between 9:15 am and 12 pm (Teams have to be back at the dock no later than 1 pm)
Where can I practice closer to home?
If your team is based in the west-end of the City, take a look at the Ottawa River Canoe Club. If your team is based in the east-end of the City, take a look at the Petrie Island Canoe Club.
