INTRO TO SPRINT |
This program is an introduction to competitive sprint canoe and kayak paddling for kids aged 9 - 14.
The best decision you'll make for your children!
Spring and fall sessions run three times per week (2 evenings + Saturday) in June and September. Summer sessions run Monday though Friday over two weeks from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Pre and Post care is available for the summer sessions at additional cost.
Throughout the camp paddlers will progress through all the basic skills of sprint paddling. Paddlers will learn about water safety rules for sprint boats, how to balance, paddle, and train in sprint kayaks and canoes. The summer sessions of Intro to Sprint Paddling include the opportunity to race at a fun, local regatta. Participants will learn competition skills and rules for sprint canoe kayak, and will participate in on and off water training sessions.
Although no paddling experience is required, all participants must demonstrate required swimming ability.
To reinforce safe paddling skills, all participants are required to wear life-jackets or PFDs any time they are on the water.
All equipment is provided by the Rideau Canoe Club.
All sessions are led by friendly, dependable, knowledgeable and certified coaches.

Pre & Post Care
Pre care is available 8:00 - 9:00 AM. There is no supervision before 8:00 AM.
Post care is available 4:00 - 5:00 PM. If your child is not picked up before 5:15 an additional $20 fee will be charged for each late pick up.
