Intermediate Canoe & Kayak

So, you've done some paddling before and/or are looking to get fit?  You've come to the right place! Check out our Intermediate programs for 2017 below. 


Fitness Paddling

Our most popular program! Fitness paddling sessions are designed to offer paddlers the opportunity to combine a fantastic core work out with basic to advanced kayak drills, techniques and games. Each session delivers a structured workout program offering low-impact training with high-impact results. Looking for an alternative to being in the gym? This program is geared for you! Participants will be able to use their own boats, paddles, and PFD/lifejackets or those provided by the Club.

Minimum participants per session: 6; maximum participants per session: 14
Please note sessions on Statutory Holidays will be moved to the Friday of the same week.

Program Prerequisites: Introduction to Sea Kayak Course, or equivalent experience
*Please note that sufficient kayak experience is mandatory for participation

Seniors Paddling

Back by popular demand, this is a daytime group-paddling program for enthusiastic outdoor lovers age 55 and above (and young at heart)! Whether you have years of paddling experience behind you or would like to challenge yourself with a new activity, come enjoy mornings of paddling on beautiful Mooney's Bay. Facilitated by qualified instructors, you have the choice to canoe or kayak in a supportive and fun learning environment. All are welcome - from fitness enthusiasts to relaxation seekers! Participants will be able to use their own boats, paddles, and PFD/lifejackets or those provided by the Club.

Special Requirements for all Recreation Programs
  • Courses which do not meet minimum registration levels will be cancelled. Affected participants will be offered spaces in similar courses or full refunds.
  • Registrations are only considered final when payment is made.
  • Registration changes can be made for credit only; refunds will only be provided for medical reasons.
  • Minimum age requirement for our Introduction and Intermediate Canoe and Sea Kayak courses is 14.
  • Minimum age requirement for our Fitness Paddling courses is 16.
  • Please note sessions on Statutory Holidays will be moved to the Friday of the same week.
