Friends of Jock River AGM - Feb 21

posted Jan 29, 2013, 10:46 AM by Meaghan Davis   [ updated Jan 29, 2013, 10:47 AM ]
The Friends of the Jock River was established in 1996 to provide leadership in improving the health of the Jock River watershed ecosystems. Over the past 17 years we have accomplished many activities we are proud of. Please see our extensive list of major accomplishments in the attachment.

Now there is a risk that all this will end. As of 2012, most of the current board had been in place from the beginning and believed it was time to pass on the torch. Unfortunately, the membership failed to elect a new executive for 2012 and voted to place the organization into dormancy with two provisional caretaker executives and a requirement to test the waters again in 2013. You are invited to attend the upcoming Annual General Meeting, in the upstairs meeting room at 7:00 PM, February 21, 2013, at the Barrhaven Loblaws on Greenbank Road (near Strandherd) when we will try again. However, this time, if a minimum slate of key executives, namely, president, treasurer and secretary, cannot be chosen, the organization will cease to exist.

We need your help to keep the organization going.

Brian Finch
Provisional President
Friends of the Jock River
