During the first day of competition of the EOD Championships, Saturday, August 4,  Colonel By & Hog's Back Road are expected to be closed  in both directions from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm.    

TO AVOID ANY ISSUES - Please use an alternate route (use Prince of Wales Dr to access the RCC) and consider parking in one of the alternate locations (Rideauview Mall or Nesbitt Place Rd). 

There is a triathlon event taking place at the Terry Fox Athletic Center on Riverside Dr.   We are working on an arrangement to let volunteers through to the RCC.

31st Annual National Capital Triathlon – Terry Fox Athletic Facility, Ottawa

**Colonel By Drive and Hogsback Rd. ROAD CLOSURES – 6:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.**

 Ottawa – More than 1000 participants are expected this Saturday for the 31st annual National Capital Triathlon, which is the 8th event in the 2012 Somersault Event Series, hosted at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility in Ottawa. The day will be filled with exciting events including Olympic and Sprint distance triathlon and duathlon, a 5 & 10 km run, and the Wylie Ryan Surf ‘n Turf (swim and run) for kids 11 & under.

The day starts of with the event hosting the Ontario Association of Athletes’ Ontario (draft legal) Race (at 7:00 a.m.), followed by the traditional National Capital triathlons, duathlons, and the 5 km & 10 km Runs.  The signature event, the National Capital Sprint Triathlon, begins at 10:00 a.m.  The ‘Surf ‘n Turf’ for kids begins at 11:00 a.m.

In order to provide a safe environment for both participants and volunteers, Colonel By Drive and Hogs Back Road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. in both directions. We appreciate the cooperation and the patience of local residents and visitors.

The run course will follow Riverside Dr. (curb lane only) South from Mooney’s Bay park to Revelstoke Dr. and then along Revelstoke Dr.  Both Riverside Dr. and Revelstoke Dr. will be open to vehicles although there may be minor delays from time to time. We thank residents and drivers for their understanding and support.

August 21st 2012 is the second annual Kia Drive Change Day .   Catherine and her children are participating in the National Capital 5 Km as part of their leadership to ‘ DRIVE CHANGE’.  It's about thinking big, no matter how small you start. The countdown has begun, and across Canada individuals, office teams and community groups are ramping up by creating events and acts of change that make a difference in our world.  No act of change is too small.
