Rideau Masters Invitational Regatta

posted Jun 8, 2011, 4:25 PM by Hector Carranco

Hello Masters!

I hope everyone is enjoying our summer weather and a great paddling season!!

We are already busy behind the scenes preparing for the Rideau Masters Invitational Regatta on July 23 & 24.  Once again this year we feature 200m and 500m sprint races on Saturday, and the popular 12km Black Rabbit long distance race on Sunday morning.  Also, new this year is a 2km open race on Saturday afternoon!!  Please see the race card, attached, for all the details!

Huge thanks in advance to Liz Elton (Chief Official) and Bill Riddick (Race Card, Entries, & Results) who have stepped forward to manage the major tasks for the regatta.  However, there is still plenty to do!!  We need to fill all roles on race day – officials, judges, timers, boat drivers, the canteen, and so on – as well as many tasks ahead of race weekend, such as food preparation and setting up the course.

Please contact me if you or your friends and family are able to volunteer some time!!

Happy paddling!
