RCC News No. 97 - February 6, 2010

Hey! Isn't the structure exciting! Some athletes have told me they are dreaming about the day the new Club House will open. Honestly, me too! Here you can see a few recent photos.

During the Commodores' Dinner which is just a few weeks away we'll have, amongst many other things, a presentation on the construction advancement as well as very important announcements. Don't miss them! Every one is  welcome.

The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics will start in less than a week from now. There are several blogs you can check for interesting information.

We are already in February and this is the time for the development, high-performance and national team members to prepare to go to Florida for spring training.

Paddles Up, take it away!

2010 Vancouver Olympics

We are just a few days away from the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Opening Ceremony. The Canoe4Canada members are featuring the "Top 10 Countdown of Canadian Olympic Winter Games moments". Today #7 - Catriona Lemay Doan defends her 500m gold in Salt Lake City. Take a look!

Angus has the Brian and Dennis Olympic Adventure video as well as an interview to both of them on much.

Last week I heard an interview on CBC to the Canadian Flag Bearer, Clara Hughes, before she was named flag bearer. I think it is worth listening.

She has won 5 Olympic medals, 2 bronze in cycling in 1996, a speed skating bronze in 2002, and gold and silver in the 2006 winter Olympics.

This is an inspirational interview.

Go to the The Current podcast page and look for "25/01/10: Pt 3 - Clara Hughes" or open the mp3 file.

Let the board HEAR IT!

You know we are very interested in what you have to say and that you can let the board hear your ideas using the suggestions' box.
