We had a great week of Nationals, with great weather for the finals, Friday and Saturday. At the end we were 5th overall! A great job from all the 88 athletes attending the competition.

Seven crews were gold medalists and Canadian Champions:
  • OPEN Women K-4 200M - Gabrielle PAULL, Emily RAYMOND, Victoria TUTTLE, Lucy WAINWRIGHT
  • OPEN Men K-1 200m (I.D.) - Tommy DES BRISAY
  • JUNIOR Men C-4 1000M - Ian ACELVARI, Cameron MARCUS, Ian MORTIMER, Ben TARDIOLI
  • OPEN Mixed K-2 200m (I.D.) - Tommy DES BRISAY, Tara PAHWA
  • MIDGET Women K-1 200m - Madeline SCHMIDT
  • JUNIOR Men C-2 500M - Cameron MARCUS, Ben TARDIOLI
  • MIDGET Women K-1 6000M - Madeline SCHMIDT
The JUNIOR Men C-4 1000M was a very exciting race to win, because after 1000m the difference was one tenth of a second and because they boys got the prestigeous "Black" trophy for the first time in 10 years. On top of those we had 6 silver and 10 bronze medalists. Congratulations to all participants and medalists!

My prediction is that next year will be much better. We had 14 fourth places. I am sure all these crews will do much better next year! Today there was a meeting about the fall training sessions where these athletes will start to get ready for next year!
