Regatta Ready Camp at Brantwood Park Registration

Join RCC coaches and all the fun of the Regatta Ready program at the new location of Brantwood Park in partnership with Communities Activities Group Old Ottawa East. 

Brantwood Park is located in the downtown community of Old Ottawa East, close to Main and Clegg, the Ottawa Children’s Garden, Saint Paul University and The Green Door restaurant

Adult Sprint Intro Registration

Ever wondered if you could paddle one of those skinny Olympic boats?  In Introduction to Sprint Paddling for adults, participants will work simultaneously on developing fitness and technical proficiency. Topics and skills covered will include care for high-performance boats, cockpit/paddle set-up, proper paddling technique, starts, turning, and basic racing strategies.

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Registration

Get into the fastest growing water sport in North America. Stand Up Paddleboarding has taken off on lakes, rivers and oceans. Sup offers a full body work out, every muscle in you body is being used, from you toes to your head. Sup is more portable than a canoe or most kayaks and gives you a higher vantage point to view your surroundings and wild life.

Early Spring Training Registration

Registration for early spring training is now open. Registration is available to members who have participated in the sprint program earlier in the 2013 season: Spring, Summer or Fall sessions. These athletes are looking to get a head start on the 2014 season and will likely be joining the sprint program for another session this year. Early Spring Training is available for the following age groups: U13 (born in 2001-2002), U14 (born in 2000), U15 (born in 1999)

CanoeKids Camp Registration

CanoeKids is a fun-filled day camp experience focused on all aspects of safe paddle sports. Campers aged 7-12 years old will be introduced to canoeing, kayaking, dragon boating, water safety, swimming, field sports as well as cooperative games and activities. 

Throughout the week campers will explore the Rideau River with qualified instructors. Along with their peers, campers will have a great time challenging their own abilities while developing self-confidence and team-work skills.

Regatta Ready Camp at RCC Registration

Regatta Ready is a two-week introduction to competitive Sprint Canoe-Kayak for athletes aged U15 and provides all the basics needed to continue into the full summer competitive program.  

Over two weeks the paddlers will progress though all the basics skills required to race in a fun local regatta.  Paddlers will learn about water safety rules for sprint boats,  equipment, basic stoke technique and simple competition skills. To prepare to race in the fun local regatta, athletes will participate in on and off water training sessions.

Petrie Island Summer Camp Registration


This summer, come join the fun and explore one of Canada’s top Olympic Sports at Petrie Island in Orleans.  The Rideau Canoe Cub has teamed up with the Friends of Petrie Island, to offer an ecologically-themed two-week “Regatta-Ready” intro to competitive Sprint Kayak racing for athletes aged 9 to 12 years old. Over the two-week program, our certified coaches will guide you through the skills required to master basic balance and stroke techniques while you have fun in the sun!
