The day previous to the competition

posted Aug 12, 2009, 7:05 PM by Hector Carranco

Today was a busy day again with more teams arriving to Dartmouth. Today I had the opportunity to work with my Mexican friends for the most part of the day and also met the Ecuadorian team.

But the best part of the day was the Opening Ceremony which started at 8pm. I watched the flags parade from the Senobe's deck. It was amazing to see the flags being carried by war canoes.

Right after that Vanessa and the girls arrived from Ottawa. We went to try to watch closer but it was really crowded. We ran into some other RCC members and more are coming later in the week.

The competition starts tomorrow at 9am and that's what we are here for!
