Overview
This event is based on the ICF format for a Marathon World Championship Race. We will make 
every attempt to follow the rules in the ICF Marathon Rule book.

Goals
The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for any sprint paddler in Canada experience 
an ICF style marathon race. This event allows for preparations to include Marathon Racing in 
future annual plans of a developing sprint paddler.

Entries and Fees
  • There is $10 fee.
  • Deadline for entries is Wednesday September 23 at midnight.
  • Click here to register and pay.
General Information
  • Each category should take about 2 Hours of racing.
  • The approximate length of a lap would be 3.5 to 4 Kilometres.
  • Weather and wind will determine the final length of the course.
  • The racecourse will be laps of Mooney's Bay with the portage along the beach.
  • The length of the portage will be approximately 200 meters.
  • Start time 8:30 am if we have three categories the regatta should finish at 3:00 pm.
  • There will be a bbq available right after you finish your race included in your fee.
  • No surf ski or stand up paddling.
Category #1 (start first)
  • U15, U18 and younger Novice and Master Novice
    • Men's K1 4 Laps with 3 Portages
    • Men's C1 3 Laps with 2 Portages
    • Women's K1 4 Laps with 3 Portages
    • Women's C1 3 Laps with 2 Portages
Category #2 (start after first group has finished)
  • Competitive U16 to U18 with Competitive Masters
    • Men's K1 6 Laps with 5 Portages
    • Men's C1 5 Laps with 4 Portages
    • Women's K1 5 Laps with 4 Portages
    • Women's C1 4 Laps with 3 Portages
Category #3 (if entries are low in this category could be combined with Category #2)
  • Competitive Open
    • Men's K1 7 Laps with 6 Portages
    • Men's C1 5 Laps with 4 Portages
    • Women's K1 5 Laps with 4 Portages
    • Women's C1 4 Laps with 3 Portages
