As we enter the new phase of the Rideau Canoe Club members will not only see physical changes to the building, but along with it some cultural changes. Ensuring the safety of our members and visitors as well as safeguarding the facility and assets plays an important role in the future Rideau Canoe Club’s. There are many policies and guidelines to be established. These are being done in collaboration with the board of directors, a policy committee, as well as input from the membership and staff, in compliance with our signed agreement with the City of Ottawa. The posted policies and guidelines were approved by the board at the October meeting. All policies will be reviewed and revisions made if necessary within the next six months as our programs become established. Thereafter they will be reviewed on a yearly basis. There are many more areas requiring policies or guidelines at the club. If anyone is interested in being on a committee to assist please let the board know.
