Rideau Athletes

Rideau athletes are competing at the 2016 Canadian Sprint Team Trials 1. Last February some of there were around the club and we had a chance to ask them some questions about their life as Rideau Athletes.

Angus Mortimer
Angus started paddling more than 20 years ago and from the start his goal was to compete at the Olympics. He fulfilled his dream when he competed in the K4 1000m final at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Now he is trying to qualify for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in the K1 1000m.

Ben Tardioli
Ben was a hockey and soccer player in his childhood and came to the club to have a good time and trying to stay up! He started setting his goals at the age of 15 when he became competitive by competing at Nationals. Ben has represented Canada at Senior World Championships in C1 200m. His objective for the 2016 season is to qualify for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in the C1 200m.

Drew Hodges
Drew started to paddle when he was in grade 9 and wanted to do something different in the summer. He has developed into a U23 World Championships paddler and is looking to get better and down the road compete at World Championships and the Olympic Games.
