The Rideau Canoe Club is located on some of the best training flat water in the country on Mooney's Bay in Ottawa. We have been consistently among the top canoe clubs in Canada at the National Championships. We are the 2015 Canadian Sprint CanoeKayak Champions! Over the years, the club has managed to successfully maintain its performance at the highest level, while continuing to offer successful programs to paddlers of all ages in Summer Camps, Sprint, Recreational and Dragon Boat programs.

Rideau is currently hiring for the following position:
  • PaddleAll Competitive Program Coach
  • PaddleAll Recreational Program Coach
  • Recreation Program Part-time Instructor (Sea Kayak, Canoe, & SUP)

  • PaddleAll Competitive Program Coach
The Paddle All Competitive program is hiring coaches for the 2018 summer season. This program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 21st to August 21st, 2018 from 6-7 p.m. Coaches will also be required to attend regional regattas with their athletes throughout the summer. Regattas occur on weekends - dates TBD. This program aims to offer an opportunity for people living with intellectual disabilities to be able to enjoy competitive kayaking while in a safe and friendly environment. 

Applicant requirements include :
  • Police records check (vulnerable sector) required.
  • First aid and CPR C certification required. 
  • Pleasure craft operator card required.
  • Paddling experience required.
  • Coaching experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with persons living with disabilities is an asset.
  • Community coach and/or ELCC certification are an asset.

  • PaddleAll Recreational Program Coach
The Paddle All Recreational program is hiring coaches for the 2018 summer season. This program runs Mondays and Wednesdays from July 9th to August 15th, 2018 from 6:30-8 p.m. The sessions are youth or adult specific and the aim is to offer an opportunity for people living with all types of abilities and disabilities to be able to enjoy canoeing and kayaking while in a safe and friendly environment. 

Applicant requirements include :
  • Police records check (vulnerable sector) required.
  • First aid and CPR C certification required. 
  • Pleasure craft operator card required.
  • Paddling experience required.
  • Coaching experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with persons living with disabilities is an asset.
  • Community coach and/or ELCC certification are an asset.

  • Recreation Program Instructor
        The RCC Recreation Program is looking for part-time canoe, kayak, and SUP instructors. Recreation programs vary from               introductory courses, fitness courses, private lessons and group bookings. We are looking for enthusiastic instructors who             want to share their love of paddling with those in our community. The Recreation season begins on May 19th. 

        Applicant requirements include:
  • Police records check
  • First aid and CPR C certification
  • Paddling experience
  • Instructor certifications such as ORCKA or Paddle Canada are an asset
