2016 Canada Day International Regatta

Friday July 1 and Saturday July 2, 2016

Almost 200 paddlers from 
Quebec, Ontario, and BC and the National Team enjoyed great high level racing over two days of competition. Weather was not perfect but it was good enough for the regatta to finish on time and for everyone to enjoy the bbq.

    Scratch Meeting will be at 6:00 pm at the Rideau Canoe Club on Thursday, June 30.

    Clubs register through PadTrac
    Provincial and National Teams register using the form “Canada Day 2016 Entry Form – Ottawa”.

    The Canada Day International Regatta takes place on the new Mooney’s Bay race course on the Rideau River in Ottawa, ON, Canada. The racecourse was built for the 2015 Canadian Sprint CanoeKayak Championships with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

    • This year we are offering again Paracanoe, Open, U19, and U17. 
    • The distances will be 200m, 500m and 1000m.

      ENTRY FEE 
      • The entry fee for the event is $60.00 per athlete + $5.00 levy fee* for the full three days of the event and includes a t-shirt and the banquet on Saturday after the competition. For international athlete it is $60 + $10 levy fee*.
      • Clubs/Teams are required to pay 50% of their total fees upon registering through online payments or a check made out to the Rideau Canoe Club and mailed to 804 Hogs Back Road, Ottawa ON K2C 0B1.  
      • Clubs/Teams are required to make their final payment of fees no later than the Scratch meeting.
      * to cover CKC costs in helping implementing the event.

      The Rideau Canoe Club is located at 804 Hog’s Back Road at the Hog’s Back lock of the Rideau Canal.
      The Rideau Canoe Club is located less than 10 Km from the Ottawa International Airport. There are direct flights from different cities in the United States and from Toronto and Montreal international airports.
      Clubs/Teams will need to arrange their own ground transportation from and to the airport and during the competition.

      Everyone is invited to the banquet at the end of the second day (Saturday, July 2nd) --starting at around 4:30pm. The banquet is included in the athlete's entry fee. For spectators the cost will be $5.00 per person.

      The regatta will be run under ICF rules, with potentially some minor modifications to accommodate the schedule.
